Fundraising at 8th Alton

Yes, the children that join our groups pay ‘subs’ each week however, to really make adventures happen, we continually fundraise.

We aim to to provide the kind of opportunities that shape children for life: whether it is their first night away from home as a Beaver, or their first time up or down a climbing wall as a Cub, or their first time on an international camp as a Scout or, as an Explorer, taking part in international jamborees.

Sometimes we simply provide uniforms and access to Scouting to members that struggle with covering this cost.

We also operate a building with a kitchen, toilets, store and activity rooms, we have land – all need to be kept up to date and well maintained.

None of our volunteers are paid; their time is generously offered for free.

All money we raise goes directly to supporting our young people with their enjoyment of Scouting. If you can, please help us.
