Scouting at 8th Alton
8th Alton Scout Group enjoys hosting 3 Beaver Colonies, 2 Cub Packs, 2 Scout Troops and 1 Explorer Unit, all supported by a fantastic team. We provide adventures for some 200 young people.
We are one of two Scout Groups in Alton (3rd Alton is based next to the community hospital) and are linked to many groups in the surrounding area. Our Scout District, Rotherfield, includes Alresford & Cheriton, Bentley, Candover Valley, Four Marks & Ropley, Headley, Medsted, and Blackmoor, Bordon & Whitehill,
Through working with Scouts from across the District, County and Country, we aim to provide every young person with the opportunity to be more and do more through Scouting activities.
Our hope is that each Beaver experiences their first camp away from home, each Cub is challenged with physical activities, each Scout develops new skills and, by the time they leave Explorers, they have had the opportunity to experience international activities and developed their mental, physical and social capabilities.
